Moonlight Dance Tiles

We just photographed the new work that came out of the kiln last week. Indy Behrendt took this picture of my pair of Moonlight Dance tiles. You can see a selection of my ceramic tiles in person at "Locally Grown", a ceramic exhibition that opens March 3rd at Matzke Fine Art on Camano Island.

The new old kiln is finally producing...

Ceremonial Bird Rattle
Dancing between painting on canvas and carving into clay, the new work is coming together. Getting my mind around painting my carvings with glazes is an interesting journey. My painting style has been to layer colors slowly, seeing results at every moment. The glazes don't allow for that. Black looks gray, blue looks red before going into the kiln. Then there is magic when the firing begins.
